THE NC PANDEMIC HEROES LITTER

On May 2 2020, EENP welcomed 8 new puppies into the world. These puppies will all go into training with EENP to become service dogs that will provide life-changing assistance for people with disabilities.

The puppies and the promise they hold for the future gave us a vision of hope to hold onto despite the uncertainty of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. We decided to name these puppies in honor of some of the many heroes of this pandemic in our home state.

Community members were invited to submit name suggestions for the litter and then vote for the final names.

Choosing the Names

We compiled a list of names suggested by community members to honor NC heroes of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, and the community voted for the heroes they wanted to honor.

Names are provided with information about who the name honors and a link to more information, where available. In some cases where information is not publicly available, the information has been taken directly from the text provided when the name was suggested.
