THE PANDEMIC HEROES LITTER

On April 7, 2020, EENP welcomed 11 new puppies into the world. These puppies were born to EENP dam Shasta and ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities) Gipper as part of a breeding partnership with organizations training assistance dogs around North America. About half of the litter will stay with EENP and all of the pups will all go into training to become service dogs that will provide life-changing assistance for people with disabilities.

The puppies and the promise they hold for the future gave us a vision of hope to hold onto despite the uncertainty of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. We decided to name these puppies in honor of some of the many heroes of this pandemic.

Community members were invited to submit name suggestions for the litter and then vote for the final names.
